2009

California Delta Days

Despite a drought in California, this year promises to be another great year of waterskiing and wakeboarding in the Sacramento Delta where the water level only changes with the tides. This year’s water sport fun will begin at Turner Cut Resort in Stockton. Turner Cut is a full service marina and campground, located just a few miles from downtown Stockton.

Westwood invites you to join us for waterskiing and/or wakeboarding, boating and relaxing this summer. We offer three day and two day trips.

Westwood’s trips include camping fees, breakfasts, a number of water ski, wakeboard or wake skate runs each day, as well as cocktails and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Prices vary depending on your ski club affiliation. (NOTE – There has never been a better time to join Westwood, as we’ve lowered our membership rates!)

Camping Turner Cut Resort is located on the California delta where the climate is usually mild throughout the summer season. Reserved for our club, are clean, grass covered tent sites surrounded by 60’ trees.  Camp features include a bar/grill, restrooms with showers, a laundry room, and an RV park with hookups.

Boating  – Towboats are privately owned and volunteered by members of the club. The drivers are pleasant, experienced and highly qualified in water sport safety. Their fleet of Sangers and a Barefoot Nautique is available, Friday-Saturday 8:30-5:30 and Sunday 8-1:30.

Traveling – Most participants begin the 5 hour drive to the delta Thursday afternoon, others choose to travel after work on Friday. We encourage carpooling and can help you find a ride or riders.

Beginning – If ever you’ve considered water skiing, wakeboarding, hydro-foiling or bare-footing, we’ll show you the way!!!  Our club has limited equipment for use. We recommend renting skis/boards from Burbank Water Ski Company.  Just call Pam – Her Royal Highness @ 818 848 8808 and she’ll get you into the right stuff.  Don’t be scared, sign up, show up!!!!!!!
